This is a very hands-on cooking class during where you learn to create your own Masalas, fold Samoosas, and balance the delicate flavours of Cape Malay curries in a single evening session. The sessions starts with the creation of Boeber (warm milk and sago flavoured with rosewater, almond, cardamom and cinnamon drink) to stimulate the senses. Thereafter your host and cooking instructor takes you on a journey through the ways in which food, history and religion are interwoven in the Bo-Kaap culture which make Malay Cuisine such a unique part of the country’s distinctive ‘fusion cuisine’. Then we sit back, relax, and appreciate your handwork as you dig into a full course traditional Malay Meal.
